Of course it would have been nice to have won both games today and yes, we probably should have but let's not overreact.

I was happy when we beat Derby last week 4-0 but even then i didn't read much into because you can't with pre-season games.

It was another work out for all the lads in preperation for the Fulham and you can only judge how good or bad your pre-season has been after 6 or 7 games of the season.

Just hope Heskey and Cunningham are not injured.

i can see bruce now sitting there thinking right what excuses can i use this season.
ahhh i know injuries always a winner i will blame it all on the injuries.
its obvious to the world and his dog we need a dominant midfiled player ?
who do we get nafti
we are relying on dunn being fit last in read it was thought december at earliset :o
i wonder if bruce buys players on their reputation rather than what they can do for the club.
sorry i know its only a friendly but even so its not good enough is it.

Interesting everyone seems totally despondant again after three friendly games being lost. I would have liked to win the games, but I saw enough in the Derby game to believe we have a reasonable chance this term. Also we split our squad and played two friendlies at the same time today, only something that the very top clubs do as a rule.
Also I guess this is all armchair criticism. Not a satisfactory way to know what's really going on.

Not good enough, if we can thrash derby then qpr and peterborough should have been no problem, FRIENDLY OR NOT.

i agree, these teams we have played are playing as teams...what the Feck is Bruce doing...friendlies are designed to warm you up as a team...not split it!! i am amazed at this.

I went to the QPR Game yesterday.

Ok i can understand you are al upset and angry that we lost to them, i was not a happy chappy either.

BUT lets look at it properly, that was there full strength starting 11 and full strength subs, Holloway before the game stated this was a game that was going to be played full pelt as there season starts next saturday, and that they were going to play to win and really get something from the game. Which in fairness they actually did, they played some ok football and battled very very competitivly, some of the challenges were full blooded and meaningful unlike our previous friendlies.

Now look at the Blues, we are 2 weeks behind them in Training and fitness and games played.
We had a very makeshift left handside that was never in the game with Gray at LB and Anderton at LW (supposedly).

Also KK took his knock quite early on in the game and wasnt right there after.

What i am saying is lets not self destruct to soon, this was a game that meant more to QPR as it was prem opposition and there last friendly before there season starts with there 100% full starting line up.

On the day they wanted it more and played the better football, this believe me will have no bearing what so ever on our forthcoming season, im sure the game benefitted some blues players than others, Muzzy and The Fors as Muzzy got his first full game under his belt and the forse 80 mins.

So come on lads and ladies get behind our bloody team and management and just let the friendlies pass by and really support this club this season form wherever you can the game or at home.

Im so fired up for the 13th now i cant wait, i for one think we will be ok this yr, safe by christmas and then hopefully strong enough to push on from there.

KRO

I went to Peterborough yesterday, good day out . Most unreal part of the day discussing with David Gold the walter pandiani transfer .He said as it stood yesterday 2.30pm the transfer was 60-40 in our favour. BCFC would not pay over the top because it would affect what they would pay walter in wages and the whole pacage i.e instead of it costing £30,000 a week if they paid more that would go up considerably. Spoke to Barry Fry as well he is just recovering from a hip replacement, and wasn't really his jovial self.

The Game -was a good run out for the younger players,Chris cottril could do no right in keith bertscins mind and he really gave him hell (a bit out of order). I am glad Bertschin isn't our manager he didn't really have a clue, tactically or motivational. Morrison scored but looked as if he didn't want to be there, i think it really is time for him to go now. Clapham worked tirelesly and looks to be getting there, martin taylor looked cack, medhi nafti grew as a player the longer the game went on. People say give neil kilkenny a chance , i say give it another season or two yet. Friendly Fans good atmosphere ,football played in the spirit of how it should be.

At last two people who actually went to the games. Well done for going firstly. Secondly thanks for a real report on what went on. Armchair fans, even Blues armchair fans, are usually totally out of touch as shown in this thread.

Yeah Pat , not many at Peterborough, shame really, i would put it at about 80 bluenoses out of a crowd of 1,100 . It is good to see another different part of BCFC in action and the fact that we could have a chat with david gold sitting there discussing transfers was TRULY bizzarre

fairplay for going mate, i went to the Northampton friendly, and although enjoyed it it was disappointing to see us lose 1-0.

Neil Kilkenny will be 22 if we leave him rotting in the reserves another two years, i say give him a crack at it now, even if it's from the subs bench.

Well booboy, the team wasn't split as you say it. It was more a reserve side that went to Peterborough. If Bruce would have sent say Upson to Peterborough and Cunningham to Q.P.R and done the same with Heskey and Forssell then i think you would have been right in saying what was Bruce thinking as you want partnerships in the team to develop, but the only 1st teamers that were with the team at London Road were players who would have only sat on the bench at Rangers anyway so surely it was better for them to get a game?

Maybe Nafti and Clapham would have got a game at Loftus Road but they are weeks behind everyone in their pre-season match time and maybe needed less demanding oppositition to hep them get back in the swing of things.
